View Full Version : Is there any way to put night sites on a CW9?
Does the slide have to go back to the factory for this, or can a gunsmith do this?
thx

Chris,
The CW9 was not designed to enable replacement sights. So I guess you will have to pay a smith, or if they will, the factory to dovetail it for new sights. But it will cost $$$$$. This is why I always recommend moving up to the P series.
The factory will not do it. I had mine done by Bruce Warren at http://www.bcarmory.com/ I think he charged me $65 and it took him about a week. I had mine done right before Christmas last year and I got the slide back on Christmas eve. He did an excellant job and was a pleasure to deal with. If you decide to get it done by him, tell him David says hi.
I personally am fine with not having night sights on my CW9. I saw no reason to move up to the P9, but then, I know a couple of very talented machinists that I'd trust to cut a dovetail in my slide if I changed my mind. ;)
Also, I prefer conventional rifling to polygonal. Much easier to clean, and the difference in velocity out of a 4" barrel is on the order of 1 percent if I recall correctly.
