View Full Version : Has this happened to anyone else?
I took my Kahr P45 to the indoor range today and I noticed that one of my magazines was increasingly difficult to insert into the pistol's magazine well.
This is the cause:

It hasn't happened to me with my P45, but Kahr ought to replace it for you.
I hope so.
I e-mailed Dottie @ Kahr late this afternoon and attached the above pic for her review. Dottie has always provide me with excellent customer service in the past.
Yikes!!
I have 3 mags and no such problems after 1k rounds.
Hope it works out for you.
I should have updated this thread earlier -
In response to my e-mail, Dottie (@ Kahr) called immediately and left a message on my answering machine that a new/replacement magazine was already in the mail to me.
I received it 2 or 3 days later; included, was a postage-paid empty envelope for the return of my defective magazine.
In my book, that's excellent service and Dottie is a real asset to the Kahr company!
I have read elsewhere of this happing to the 9mm mags also. Must be something the way it is welded in that the heat might weaken where it bends or maybe just substandard metal. It is not the first to happen though I have been lucky with mine.
To my untrained eye, the defect didn't appear to have occurred at a weld point; it seemed to be a stress fracture where the metal sides wrap around at a 90 degree angle to form the back of the magazine. Just a guess, but maybe the metal magazine body wasn't tempered correctly.
ALL'S WELL THAT ENDS WELL.
