View Full Version : The two types of .45 GAP magazine followers
While all of my G38 and G39 magazines -- ten of each -- have the beveled-style magazine followers, my G37 magazines are about half beveled- and half pointed-style. I took photos of two G37 magazines, each with a different style follower, this morning, which clearly illustrates the difference:

Actually, there are three types. When the G37 first came out, some of the magazines and original followers were defective. Soon after discovering the problem, Glock redesigned the mags and followers. They will still replace those old mags for free if you send them to them.

Can you post a pic of the followers of the mags that glock will replace?

I don't have pictures of them, but you don't need to know that they look like. If your gun works fine, there is no need to worry about them. But if your slide keeps locking back after the last round, and it won't release using the slide release lever, or if the slide fails to lock back on the last round, you have the bad mags. You can easily tell if you have the bad ones by wiggling the front of the follower. If it moves side to side too much, almost a quarter of an inch, than you have bad ones. Glock doesn't replace the followers, they will replace the whole mag, because the the mag AND the follower was redesigned.
Glock replaced my followers. My G37 came with the early followers. I called Glock and they sent me 2 new followers with springs attached. Did not have to send in the old ones. No charge.

She's fine now, Within two days she was back to normal, and she didn't lose her hair at the wound like the doctor said she would.

Glock did replace just the followers for some people, but then they started asking for the whole magazine. Once in a while, you still hear of Glock just sending new followers.
So, neither of the follower types depicted here are considered the "bad" followers?
