I am debating if I should purchase the 9 round magazine for my Glock 30. I hear it is more concealable but you have less to hang the last finger on. Anyone out there use the 9 rounders? How does the gun conceal and shoot with the 9 rounders?
If you do a search there was a thread with almost an identical title. I don't use them in mine because I put a plug in and it wouldn't sit fluch anymore. However I do have a G29 whos normal mag does that and I kept one stock (others have the Pearce +0) for when I can't conceal the extension. I also have the same type of setup for my wife's G27 as I can conceal easier without any extensions.
As for grip, there is nothing for your pinky to hang onto. While I don't mind it that way I definitely prefer to have the finger extension.
Oh, and for the $20 tops, buy one and if you like it buy more. If not, your not out much.
I usually carry with the 9 round mag. I don't notice any problems controlling it while shooting.

I could tell you how I like the 9 rounder in my G30, but that's got nothing to do with how you will like one in yours.
If you don't care for it, post another thread and sell it here. Someone will buy it, probably for what you paid or a couple bucks less.
For carry Iuse a 9 round magazine witha Pearce PG29 pinky
extension. PG29 is for a 10mm magazine but also fits the 9 round G30 magazine.
I have a 9 rounder for when I need to conceal it. I hate the stock 10 rounders as that little extention is too big for me to get a 4 finger grip (pinky curled under the grip) and too small for a good full grip so my pinky just keeps fighting to stay on with them. I have so far cured that problem in two different ways. One is I got a 9 round mag. I can now hold it comfortably with a 4 finger grip and makes it easier to conceal. Then I got some Scherer pinky extentions for my 10 rounders. They allow me to get a full grip on them now.
Shooting the 9 rounders with only a 4 finger grip is very controllable. I even shot Hornady TAP 230gr. +Ps out of it one handed and it was not hard at all to control. I reocommend you get at least one to make up your mind and give yourself the flexability to make the grip shorter with just a mag change. At most you will only be out $20 (maybe even next to nothing as a lot of people like and want the 9 rounders so selling it for close to what you paid should be easy).

Ok, I purchased a 9 round magazine from a dealer on ebay and I must admit it really makes the gun smaller. You can add a pearce grip extender to the 9 round magazine but in my opinion, it defeats the purpose of 9 round magazine by not keeping the gun small and more concealable. I fired about 50 rounds with the 9 round magazine and the gun is just as easy to shoot as ever.

Glad you like it. I wouldn't steer you wrong ;) IMO that 9 rounder adds a nice little bit of versatility to it. You can now choose what mag to use based on need.

I have bigger hands so the pinky extensions are a must for me. I use the 9 rounders with the G29 +0 extensions because the 10 round G30 +0's pinch my finger everytime. PGH~
