View Full Version : Are AK mag bags washable?
A few years ago I got a magazine pouch free when I ordered 3 30rd. mags online. Only problem was when I got the mag pouch it was used, stunk, and showed some signs of molding. But the material seemed strong enough. Just curious is the canvas pouch is washable? That it, if I toss it in the washer, will it clean up or will it fall apart or rust the buckles?
Thanks!

I would just handwash it.
I don't think one wash cycle would have any ill effects on the buckles, but it might on the leather straps ( if it has any ). Also the buckles might do a number on the washer and dryer bowls.
Also you don't know where that pouch has been, so it might have some ill effects on your next load of "socks and drawers" :animlol:

+1 on the handwash. Let it air dry.

I have a pile of EG raindrop pouches that appeared to have been stored in a swamp.
I soaked them in HOT water, then sprayed Purple Power (greased lightning, whatever..) all over and scrubbed the hell out of them with a stiff bristle brush....They dont smell as bad, and look great!

I kinda like that musty, greasy, stored in a Romanian tool shed smell!
