View Full Version : Rear Sight Tool ?
Decided to buy a rear sight tool for installing new sights on my G19.
Any one better than the other ?
Thanks

I have used most of them and prefer MGW tools. Good tool at a fair price. If you plan to do mostly trapzoid sights like Mpe and the like get the slant tool. If you are going to do mostly straight wall sights like Heinie or WTS get the straight wall tool.
I use a wooden dowel and a hammer.

I'm with Matt. The MGW tool is a good deal.

+1 more.
Those complicated tools confuse me. A hammer and either a nylon or brass punch works for me. Yep, I have put on dozens of night sights with a punch. Haven't broken one yet.
MGW for $60
Glock brand [each one large and one small] for $120 each.

My vote goes for the P500 universal sight tool. I was looking for one that wasn't just limited to Glock, and this one seems to do all that i've tried, the instructions even tell you how to do Kimber, although i haven't tried Kimbers personally, i hear they are very hard to do. Its usually around $122 at Brownells and at Midway, but Midway had a sale last month for $99. Its very well made and seems to be adjustable to just about any height and width you would come across. They had review in American Handgunner July/August 2004 that sold me on it. Tom
