Which of these two model is probably better? One of them says it has night sights, but otherwise what is different between the '98 and '03 from the factory?
The mfg. box numbers of the two pistols I am looking at are 9096NA and 9098A.
Both are used, but appear to be in excellent condition with low round counts. The Elite 2003 appears to have had the grip screws changed out to hex head.
Other than the polished finish, what is different about the Elite vs. the standard K9? Is the Elite better?
Thanks,

The Elite 03 has a beveled mag well.
The Elite's are better IMO due to the upgraded triggers and the rounded edges. The looks aint bad either.

First of all. All polymer Kahr's have the Elite Trigger. All current production Steel Kahrs have the Elite Trigger, with one exception. The K9 with the NYCPD trigger. The NYCPD trigger is the old non-elite trigger.
All Steel Kahrs produced after sometime in 2001 or 2002 until current, have the Elite Trigger, with the exception noted above. Kahr started producing the K9 with the NYCPD trigger in mid 2005.
It is my understanding that All Polymer Kahrs have always had the Elite Trigger.
The Elite 2003 has a beveled magwell and some rounded edges on the slide and slide stop. The Elite 98 does not. Other then that they have the same specs.
I have handled one MK9 Elite 2003. From what I have seen of the "beveled" magwell, I believe one could bevel the magwell on any steel frame Kahr with a Dremel and about ten minutes. Polymer Framed Kahr magwells are beveled.
If it were me, I would go with the one that has Night Sites as long as the price difference is not too much. Night Sites can be added for between about $75 and $100.
FYI. The parts needed to add an Elite trigger the K9 NYCPD (or an older K9 produced before the switch to the Elite trigger) can be purchased from Kahr for under $30.
YMMV

AZ you said ALL polymer kahrs? So if I bought one new last week, it would have to have to beeen reeeaaal old "new stock" NOT to have an elite trigger? GOOD to know! Have any idea what prefix they started with? nm would be different for every model i guess. This is a huge powerseller I got it from on gunbroker, so I'm guessing it's as fresh of the line as any of them. THNAKs

jh2600, I edited my last post for clarity. I believe it answers most of your questions.
I do not know the S/N range of when Kahr made the switch on the Steel Models.
thanks.
A while back (maybe a year ago?) someone had two pics of the underside of a 98 and 03 slide- one had rough tool marks, one was smooth. Not that it makes a bit of difference in performance, but anyone remember the trhead to which I'm referring?
