Has anyone out there shot the p2000 subcompact? I am thinking about getting one i have a usp compact 40 now and i was just wondering how the subcompact would compare to the compact.

It is not much smaller than the P2000 or compact from what I hear. I know with my P2000 and my P2000sk there is a little difference in size. I love both the guns dearly. Perhaps you can compare them at a local gun store?

I have a USP40c, P2000-40 and a P2000SK-40. All have the LEM trigger. I bought the P2000SK to pair with my USP40c and stumbled across the P2000 when it was on consignment. I was weak and bought it. I like all 3 very much. I don't notice much difference between the three at the range as far as accuracy, recoil, etc are concerned. Size is slightly smaller than the USP and is also a little less blocky. The SK will bite if you don't take care when changing magazines, however. If you like your USPc and need/want something a little smaller with similar feel and shootability then the SKs your pistol. Some prefer the feel of the P2000 over the USPc but I seem to prefer the USPc over the P2000. The difference is minor and only a concern if I were to have to get rid of one..........not gonna happen! The feel of the SK is different from the USPc/P2000 but not better nor worse in my book. I have the extended base plates on my SK mags and don't have a problem with the feel of them like some seem to. If SK fits your hand you'll like shooting it.

Thanks for input.
I have both too, USPc and P2000sk, like both. I carry the sk because it is slightly smaller. The USPc has a more comfortable grip, points a little better and carries three more rounds, but in my state can only use the 10 round mag in any case, so the capacity is wasted. However if I were to move to a state where ther 12+1 were legal, I'd prefer the extra capacity of the USPc or P2000. All great guns, my sk has the decocking lever, nice if you ever wanted to sneak up on someone and pull the hammer back...
Whether or not you like the "feel" of the P2000 subcompact will most likely depend on the size of your hands. I consider myself medium framed (5'11" & 180 lbs) with average sixed hands and the subcompact just feels too small for my hand. Like someone else mentioned, you may be able to overcome that with an extended magazine. I own the P2000 which works great for me and is ideal for concealed carry. It is a difficult task to ask different people these types of questions because so much of it boils down to user preference. I would suggest just picking one up at a local gun store and see for yourself.
Agreed. One must handle these guns to see which one one prefers. Luckily both the 2000 and SK are provided with backstraps to fit MOST, if not all, hands. My USPc fits my hand better too, and points better, yet I actually shot better groups with the SK. Go figure. BTW, I am 5' 10" and 180 lbs, too heavy, too old, brain cells are dying.
