View Full Version : Flap top holster for a G30
I continue to try and find a flap top holster that will accommodate a G30. I know ya think I am nuts for wanting this kind of holster, but I carry my G30 outside when working around the farm with the first couple of rounds being snake shot and I need all the protection I can get for my Glock since I bump into and hit things as I move about. Do any of you know a company that has or makes such a holster for a G30? thanks.

I can't post a link to it, but go to eBay and search for item 220030366035. I bought one of these holsters from this guy a few years ago and it's great! I bought it for my Ruger P90 and used it while I was hunting to keep out rain and snow. My G30 fits in it quite well, and an extra magazine fits in the front mag holder perfectly.
I'm not sure if this is the exact model I got, but I think it's close, though. Contact the seller - "ggreen3000" and ask him if it'll fit. If not, he'll make one to your specifications. I bought another flap holster a year or so later and asked him to put a hook on it (instead of a belt loop) so I could mount it on the side of my truck's center console. He's very accomodating. I think I paid about $12 with shipping for each one.

El Paso Saddlery, the old style military flap holster (leather).
Although really, a Safariland 6004 or similar military-grade modern holster will protect it pretty well. I know guys who've jumped out of aircraft, banged out of Humvees, run into/out of/smacked off of buildings, etc and their pistols stayed firmly where they left them.
Have you looked at a "Safepacker" from Wilderness Tactical?

Or a Bianchi UM92II Military flap holster?

The Bianchi is highly overpriced for what it does, I was issued one with the thumbsnap conversion, and they're still called Suicide Specials/Widowmakers.
They don't retain the gun all that well unless the flap is secured, you can rip the gun out the rear if you get a hold of the grip, and they rarely ride in the right spot.
I thought of the Safepacker too right after I posted before.
I want to thank all of you for your suggestions. I checked them all out. I bought a nice simple flap top holster from Shadow Pine Pouches in Overgarrd, Az. It is the holster suggested above by WILLRUSS. The price, including shipping was under $11. I ordered it on Monday and it arrived on Thursday. Mr. Green there at Shadow Pine Pouches is a fantastic person to work with. My Glock model 30 fits this holster perfectly. The flap extends out just slightly past the finger grip on the bottom of the magazine. At the front of the holster is a magazine pouch that holds a 10 round magazine. Thanks again for taking time to provide your ideas, and suggestions.
