I have an HK USP compact .40 with a LEM. I carry it in a Milt Sparks IWB VM2. I've recently noticed some minor scratches on the front left side of the slide which I think are being caused by the holster. Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, what did you do to fix the problem. I'd rather not get a new holster, I really like the VM@, but if this is what's hurting the finish on my HK, then I'll have to break down and get a new carry holster. Thanks for the input.

Ask Sparks about it. Maybe he can look at it.

The MS holsters require a lot of break in from what Ive read. I also believe that just about any holster out there whether it be leather or kydex puts wear on the finish of any gun.
I would try putting an athletic sock on your gun and push it into the holster. This will help to "loosen" the holster enough to fit easier.
Any new leather holster I buy, I break it in by putting the firearm intended for that holster inside a heavy plastic bag, then inserting the plastic bag into the holster for a day or two. This usually breaks the holster in nicely. This might work for other materials also, but always works for leather.

I have yet to see a gun with original finish not getting any holster wear
the only way you can stop this is to get your slide hard chromed or NP3 finished... then you will be good to go.....

Thanks everyone for the advice. I did see on the Milt Sparks website about the plastic bag, i'll give that a try and see if it helps. Again, I appreciate the input.
