In October 1993, I bought a G21. It was a lovely pistol. Since I had numerous other firearms, including other Glocks, I shot the G21 rarely. In around 1995, I sold it to a very close friend. He likes guns, but hardly ever shoots the several he owns.
Over the past 11 years we've moved away from on another and back again. We now live with a 40 miles of one another. I had tried to buy the G21 back from my friend a couple of times, but he saw no need to sell it and my attempts were half hearted. Well, this past weekend the moon and stars were aligned just right (he wanted the money and I had the money) so I got back my G21. It looks like the day I sold it to him 11 years ago. He told me he might have shot it once, he just could not recall. Nonetheless, he kept it cleaned and oiled.
I am very happy to have it home again. I have big fingers and hate the later frames with finger grooves. As a matter of fact, all four of my Glocks are 1st generation frames. Back in 2001 I found a real gem on consignment at one of the local indoor ranges. It was a new unfired 1st generation frame G19 in the box for $425. I jumped on it.
In celebration, I just requested my Big Dawg number...
