If I am able to obtain a license (ATF I believe) which allows me to own fully automatic weapons, am I able to own a Glock 18?

If you want to pay the $10K/yr(?) to be a C3 dealer then I believe you could.
I've heard something about the '89 importation ban affecting the G18 but I'm not well up on it. A G18 would be nice to own but I've pretty much written it off as a possibility.

In the U.S. you would have to either be a Law Enf. officer, isued one by a department for duty use. A LE dealer licensed to sell NFA weapons to Law Enforcement. Be issued one as a private contractor for security at a Nuclear Power Plant. Or pose as a LE dealer but really rent the guns out to Hollywood for use in movies many times by actors who can not legally own firearms due to felony convictions.
None of these things apply to you.

Short answer NO.
Long answer with starting a business, FFL, SOT TAX, TAXES, yes you can obtain one but ATF will not let you start a business just to own a Glock18.
Forget about it.

Since a G18 would be a post-86 dealer sample, you would also need a letter from a LE agency requesting a demonstration before ATF would approve the transfer. There is no easy/cheap way to own any machine gun.

If cost is the determining factor the cheap way is to buy more transferable guns, and let future users pay you money to shoot thier guns.
Every transferable machine gun I have ever bought sold for 400% of what I paid for it, within 5 yrs of ownership.
So having others pay you to shoot and own thier gun is a pretty cheap way to do it.

I agree with what you are saying, as long as you are willing to sell. I bought my M16 and M11/9 years ago for $950 and $350 and they are both worth almost 10x what I paid. The only problem is I would never sell them.
However, your plan would not work for the original question posted as there are no transferable G18's that you could buy now and sell later.
