Hello everyone.
There is a new 45RD Drum coming out in a couple of weeks. It says it is for the Glock 21 .45ACP, but does anyone know if this will fit the Glock 30 .45ACP as well? The Scherer .45 mags fit all .45 mag glocks so I'm wondering if this will fit just the same. If this Doesn't fit, does anyone know of a Higher round or drum that can be purchased for the G30? As of now, I currently have a 25RD Scherer Mag for the practice - Obviously
Thanks :)

If it fits the G21, I see no reason why it wouldn't fit the G30.

Well....I received a response from the company who is selling the Mag and they said it will Not fit the G30
Dammit!!! I wouldn't see why not either, but I don't know. Looks like that will be my excuse to buy a G21

I've been carrying a G30 for close to 9 years and maybe I'm missing something but I have no idea why anyone would want to use a 45 round drum in a Glock 30.
That thing has got to be huge!
Hey BC, what's up bro?

Here is a link to the product. It's from Midway and it's a Promag Drum. There is no picture on their site yet, but it's "coming soon" and should be in October 20.

haha..... I would purchase the Drum just for ****s and giggles at the range. I would never of course use it for ppc. I ALWAYS use the factory 10rd for my G30. I was just thinking of something "different" to have for the gun. It would be nice to have a reliable magazine that holds more for the range instead of constantly reloading, or having to buy and carry 5 magazines.
Just my hobby I guess.
;)
It is made by Pro-Mag.
Pro-Mag = Crap
I doubt it will work as advertised, just like all their other mags.
Go to Midway and check out the reviews of the Pro-Mag drum for the 1911. Nothing but one stars.
Using factory 230gr FMJ in full size 1911(which never had feeding problems), I had failure to feed for first 20 rounds every time, last 20 rounds always fed fine. Liberally lubricated, then tried X3, same result. I'd call this a 20 round magazine. Bullet end drop, round angled down, it jams into feeding ramp for first 20 rounds. Attempting to manually unload the magazine was difficult, I had to use a screwdriver for the first 20 rounds to "straighten up" the round and push it out. You will need good bit of dexterity and strength to load this magazine. A heavyweight "loading tool" is supplied to relieve spring pressure to insert ammo, but you have to be careful how you hold the magazine when the tool is inserted, the loading tool easily falls out.
First let me point out I have been a very satisfied customer of Midway's. I have tried this magazine in a Springfield, Kimber, Colt, Wilson, Les Brown and Auto Ordinance model 1911's. Without the extended magazine wells. It would not work in any of these. Hate to say this but finally got something from Midway that wasn't as good as I hoped for.
This product is not worth the effort to use. It will only function 2 rounds before hanging up. This unit was tried in several different 1911 styles including a Marlin Camp 45 rifle. It will not function in any unit. It is very difficult to load and keep the shells in alignment.
Expect the same for the Glock.

Thanks for that info. That's very good to know. I read on other boards that ProMags were garbage. It's too bad there aren't other companies making more high cap choices for range shooters of glocks.
Thanks again

Why would someone want a drum for a G21/30? Because it'd be COOL. :animlol:
Not much up, Yojimbo. Good to see you. :)

I don't understand why it wouldn't fit a 30, as I've used 21 mags in my 30 for at least 8 years.
Now that said, I won't be buying one.

Guess I'm getting old but what's "COOL" about a magazine that completely un-balances the gun, makes it useless for anything but pointing down range and, in this case, is unreliable? None of that sounds cool to me.

Working under the asumption that the magazine worked, it'd be cool because it was different.
A lot of things don't have any real world utility, but they're still neat.

I agree. I just want to see some pics of it with the G30. Then I could show it to all my "anti-gun" friends and tell them that is my new carry gun.......:animlol:
