I just enlisted in the Army with MOS 89D, Explosive Ordinance Disposal. I've talked with a couple of people since enlisting and they tell me that this MOS has one of the highest wash out rates of all the Army schools. Is this true? If so, why is there such a high wash out rate? Is it academics that people can't keep up with?

Thanks in advance for the replies. I'm just trying to get some information so I can be prepared.

Difficult academics from what I have heard. There's an EOD guy on the board, he may show up to give more information.
