I am getting into the IDPA and am taking a Defensive Class I in early Nov. During a class I could not hear some of the stuff they were saying. I also don't want to pay 1 c-note + for something I will use mostly just at the range... CLICK (http://www.cabelas.com/prod-1/0031405227184a.shtml) Pros and Cons are appreciated.... Thanks

I have a similar looking set of muffs, but with the "Caldwell" brand name. They're okay I guess if you can tolerate the way that they chop off the sound for a second or two after the loud noise subsides. I think I paid ~$29 on sale at MidwayUSA a couple of years ago.
I also have a set of Peltor Tac 6s. I think they're better, and worth the price of $75-$90 depending on where you get them.
Looks a lot like some I bought from Harbor Freight for $15. Pure junk. Like Catbird said the delay time is terrible. I use them for yard work.
IMO the best muff available is the Radians ProAmp. I have/had just about every brand of electronic muff available. I do not like the head band on the Peltors. If it is still the thin one it will burn the top of your head through a cap. The Radians use to have the same band with the same problem. They have gone to a nice thick padded one.
BTW the ProAmp is the same muff as the Dillon at 1/2 the cost.

Approx., how much ($) do the ProAmps cost?

How are the Pro Amps with Long Guns? I would like to find some nice low profile muffs that I can wear for everything.
The Remington electronics are a little thinner. I use the Pro Amps with my AR.
