Is there a preferred method for removing a staked front sight on a Glock (so it is reusable)? It is a metal Tru Glo with a tritium insert.
Thank you.

edit - I can't read so well in the wee hours of the morning. Thought you wanted to reuse the Glock plastic sight.

edit: I'll leave this here for anyone replacing the Glock plastic sight.

Thanks for the video clip. It looks to me that it is for the Glock polymer front sight.
What I have is a metal sight. From appearances it started with an oval tube sight base that was inserted from the top of the slide, down through the slide. Then it looks like a tool was used to spread the metal into a light flange outwards over the inside of the slide. Not flattened or rolled over, but enough to secure the sight into the slide.

I think he's talking about the middle one BF!
I don't believe they can be re-used.

Butch & BF,
Yes, the staking is very similar to the #2 staking in Butch's photos, but not quite as pronounced, that is - it is not rolled over the frame quite as much, and does not have the cuts in the flange.
A photo is attached.
Thanks.
I expect a small punch and a tap with a hammer will get it out of there, but re-using it would be kinda like trying to re-use a pop rivet. Plus, knocking it out might break the tritium tube too.
Why do you want to remove it?
