At the gunshow last weekend I picked up an RPG brand 1" rubber buttstock extender for my WASR-10 with the standard wooden stock. Anyone have anything to say about these things?
I've always felt that a bit more length in the buttstock would be nice and as much as I hate to admit it my shoulder does get slightly bruised shooting with the metal plate against it. I'm old and thin in my upper body and bruise easily. I just removed the two screws and attached this thing onto the metal plate and it seems ok though I haven't shot it yet. There's a hole for accessing the cleaning kit but I got my finger stuck trying to get it out and had to use a screwdriver to depress the cover to get my finger out. That can happen without the extension. The only part of the kit I've ever used is the housing itself with the slot for loosening the forearm release lever. There are better tools for cleaning.
I had thought about buying one of those slipover pads but never knew which size to get. This one fits perfectly and costs less ($8.50).
