USPc .45 SS Range report (some questions)

I posted this on general semi but didn't get much help so I decided I would try here :)

Hey all! So I hit the range today with my USPc and about 70 rounds of bottom of the line lawmen 230gr ammo. This is my second time out with this gun.

When I started out, I was not shooting well at all! I tried tricking myself and would shoot with nothing in the chamber and found out that I would "push" forward and down when I shot. I don't usually do this with my other guns. As I worked with it I got better towards the end of my range session. My question is how do I prevent this so it does not happen next time? I will keep dry-firing and was wondering if this had anything to do with me not being use to the trigger. I am use to the match trigger on my Tac and I can get nice 1" groups with that no problem. So what are your opinions? I really like feel of this gun and can't wait to get better with it. This thing shoots softer then all of my .45's!

You likely just suck with the Compact SS and should sell it to me cheap. :supergrin:

Probably the trigger feel. I shot my USP45f great right off the bat, but I'd pull one once in a while for the first 100 rounds or so because I was used to 1911's. Once I got used to it I was fine. Generally I just shoot the ever loving heck out of all my carry guns and program myself for each one.

re: recoil anticipation. Just try to focus on your trigger finger and loosen up your wrists. if you focus all your attention on squeezing the trigger smoothly, you will not think about the recoil as much. Also try to be surprised by the gun firing. Do not expect the gun to fire, just let it do it. Recoil anticipation is caused by you telling your finger "fire NOW!" You don't want that.
