or anything close over the counter or do you have to load it yourself. I shot 59th out of 64 shooters Sunday and I think I'm ready to step my game up a little.
Thanks and GoodGlokin,
Rik
Hertenberger and Winchester 127+P+. Are you shooting an Open class Glock? You are not allowed to make Major with a 9mm in Limited. You can certainly shoot Major PF loads in Limited, but you will be scored as Minor.

JoeD, sorry, I should have said "minium power factor".
Thanks, Rik
Try some PMC 115-gr FMJ.;)

If you want to go down to 125 PF, you'll probably have to load your own or have a commercial reloader do it for you, especially if you're shooting a Glock 34 with the longer barrel.
I wouldn't do it, though. First of all, you won't save much at all in terms of felt recoil or muzzle flip. Your slide will cycle more slowly, which means your front sight will take longer to settle into the rear notch. You'll also have a harder time knocking down steel.
For 9mm, loads in the 130-140 PF range are usually the best balance.
Most folks around here use Blazer 115's if they don't reload.

Rik,
Some folks swear that 147gr factory loads feel "softer" than 115gr. I've shot WWB 115gr (Walmart Valuepaks), Winchester 147 gr, and 500 rounds of Georgia Arms 147gr sub-sonic reloads, and lastly CCI Blazer 115gr in both aluminum and brass. I really can't tell _that_ much of a difference, except for the Blazer which feels hotter. I shoot a G17, and the WWB 115gr crono at ~136, the Blazer 115gr aluminum ~ 140.

Back to the question at hand-
I have used a variety of 9 mm rounds that produced favorable recoil characteristics.
PMC and UMC come to mind. I don't have any on hand to confirm the specifics.
None of them come close to reloads. Heavy bullets and fast powders. Subsonic velocity. Be very careful. The best loads are likely off the charts. Titegroup may be the best safe zone load, although it is a bit dirty.

I feel that 147gr Atlanta Arms & Ammo reloads, which make the same power factor as Blazer 115gr, around 136 in my G34, are less snappy and allow me to come back on target a tad quicker. Reasonably priced, too. YMMV

Thanks for the replies. Ordered 500 rds. from Atlanta Ammo. Have been using the Blazer for years, still have 3 1/2 cases of the $3.86 stuff. Just want to try something different. The guy said PF was 130 out of a G17. I am going to try my G26 and see how I do with it (IDPA).

You should be OK...Danny is probably quoting a little on the conservative side. In my G34 it consistently chronos in the 138 PF range in matches that have a chrono stage. Be interested in what it might run in a G27.
