Just got a copy of the SAR V9N9 06/06. Page 77 states the MI AG put an official opinion stating that Pre-86 MGs and suppressors are now legal for MI citizens to own, as long as they abide by NFA laws. The opinion is dated 12/27/2005, so this is belated, but this is awesome news. An official AG opinion (in this case, #7183) in MI has the weight of law. The AG's opinion of interpretation is set down.
The article states as of 1-4-06 AG Cox has forwarded all pertinent info to the ATF for review and eval. Already several F4s have been pproved and checks cashed by the ATF. Awesome, awesome, awesome.
I am so ecstatic!!
I am saving up for a suppressor now. Hell yeah!! I have to smooth-talk my sheriff (armed with the opinion) into signing off on a F4 for a suppressor. If not, I will have to corp, which I hear is expensive in MI, but it will be worth it.
