I am wondering how to properly remove the front sight on Glocks the trijicon night sight ones. I am thinking of putting new night sights on an older glock which currently has dimmed trigicon night sights, and I want to be sure how to remove it properly without scratching the gun in the process.
THANKS

I am guessing this one is staked on, right?
Drill and punch or just punch.

Chances are it is screwed on. Glock factory night sights are staked, but Trijicons have a screw.
When you remove the barrel, look where the front sight should be while the slide is upside down. If you see a screw, try and unscrew it. It may be hard, as it could have been installed with loc-tite.
I have never had to remove a trijicon sight yet, but chances are its screwed in and you will have to try and get a grip on it with a very shallow socket. If not, any competent gunsmith can do it for you.
The easiest way if your gonna chunk the thing and its staked on is to just take a pair of pliers and pinch the sight off from the top and then punch the little bit left out. Your gonna ruin the capsule more than likely anyway when you hit it with the punch a couple times. I had one dim and staked on not too long ago and both me and my brother who is an armorer couldnt punch that thing out for nothing. I was gonna drill it then i decided to just see if i could use pliers. I was very suprised how much little effort it took to just pop it off. No scratching the slide at all. I then took the punch and easily punched the flanged part out.
