So throwing cash out completely (for mags and aftermarket 9mm barrel).
Do you lose anything by buying a G32 and turning it into a "G19", in the way of reliability, accuracy, or anything else I might not be thinking of?
I don't like the fact it has to be an aftermarket barrel for the nine, but if i was about to buy a 19, I would consider just making it a 32 IF (huge if) converted to a "19", it shoots just as well as a "real" G19. It would be nice to have the option of 357sig, which I find interesting (.40sw does not interest me).
So what % of bullets are specifically designed for .357sig, and how many are using bullets originally for 9mm?
I know to really see the significant diffs b/t 9mm and .357sig (>~100fps), you have to look to particular ammo manufacturers- do any of these companies have anything similar to what winchester does with their ranger T's, in displying a graphic that shows expanded bullets, expansion, penetration data etc through a dozen differnt substances? I notice DT and the like list their energy and fps, but am looking for what that translates into. Am curious when you start getting into ~1500fps what the bullet does (think those winchesters are only a hundred or so fps faster than +p+ 9mm, why I'm curious about DT and the like).
Thanks.
