Just wondering what mods can be made to a G34 in this division?
I am no expert by any means...but my understanding is that
you can change the sights to other types of post/notch type sights (no optical). You can also change the internal trigger parts ( i.e connector, firing pin spring, trigger spring, etc.)to suit your fancy.
Sights and Trigger.. at least these are the mods that are most commonly done. And you'll get the best benefit from.
The trigger mods just all need to be internal mods (if you can see the change from the outside, it's no longer legal - or at least that's the way I've intepreted the rule). The work can go from just polishing up the parts, to doing major internal work, or sending to a top 'smith.
Springs are changed too.. usually lighter.
I changed the guide rod to steel vs. plastic (I think the tungsten rod violates the weight rule, but never actually weighed one)

Internal mods are OK, but the only visible mods allowed are sights (as mentioned) and grip tape/grip sleeve/Trugrip/Agrip etc. That eliminates any trigger mods that affect the exteral trigger, i.e. moving the pivot pin, trimming, etc. And the final result of all mods/additions can't be more than 2 oz. over the weight of the factory pistol.
In addition to sights and trigger and grip enhancement (I love Trugrip), most people switch to a steel or tungsten (if within overall weight) rod with aftermarket springs to tune the gun a bit.
My setup is 13# IMSI recoil spring, tungsten rod, Trugrip, Dawson adjustable rear and fiber optic front, Ralph Sotello Triggerkit, Lone Wolf Ultimate Trigger Stop, and Wolff competition pack trigger, safety and striker springs.

Download the USPSA Rulebook (http://www.uspsa.org/rules/Handgun_15th_2004.pdf), US Appendix D9 - US Production Division rules.

Sights (I.e. Dawson Precision, Sevigney, Hinie) and a trigger job that has no visible external modifications. (I.e. Ralph Sotelo and Vanek Drop In or .25 cent Trigger Job)

I'm glad to read I can do SOME changes. :) One thing, can you put in a lightened steel striker? I'm assuming I can.

An internal part like that is legal...can't see it, no problem.
