Never owned a gun with night sights and don't really know much about them. Went to my local shop and asked how much it would cost to by night sights and have them installed on my Glock 19 Gen 2. I was quoted a price of $110 for Trijicon sights installed. Is this a good deal?
Also, I asked them how they sight them in. Do they use a bore sight or what? Told me they just mark the position of the old sight. Does this sound right?

That's about what my local gun store charges, IIRC.
Mark the old sight position and install the new ones in the same place is probably right.

My gunshop charged $90 for the sights, and $30 to install them and bore sight the handgun.

That's about right. I think I paid $110.00 + tax...no installation fee.

Send it to Glock....
Glock night sights are $57.00 installed.
If you search online, you could buy the Trijicon sights for $85, maybe less. Many aftermarket sights require a sight pushing tool to install in the rear and another tool for the front sight so you would need to purchase those. If you have a lot of Glocks, that might be a good route. I have the Glock rear sight pusher and it was over $100 by itself. Most front sights need either a small hex head driver or a staking tool.
Your dealer can't match online prices and stay in business. I try to support my local dealers, but that is a personal call. Almost none in my area even stock Glock sights, so you have a good one.
The only way to truly sight the pistol in is at a range, plus every ammo type/bullet weight can shoot to a different point of impact. Best your dealer can do is get the rear lined up straight with the front.

I was lucky, and found a LGS that would install them for free(as long as you bought the sights from them) i got my trijicons for 93 bucks w/tax and installed. If you look around im sure you can find the same deal.
BTW: the anme of the gun shop is American sport shooter, i'm pretty sure its a franchise.

That's because they are plastic. I called and asked.
$110 doesnt sound bad for Trijicons installed
when I had em put on my glock 19 the cheapest dealer around me was $125 with other ranging up to $165 (Minnesota/Twin Cities area for guns and equip prices suck)
I just sent my XD-9 back to the factory to be re-finnished and I had them put Trijicons on that and they are charging around $100 from the custom shop.
As far as getting them I say HELLS YEAH! I love mine, low light tested them at targets 2 weeks ago and I was amazed, and if you carry I'd say they are worth every penny.
That is about what I paid for the sights and installation. My old sights were centered on the slide and that's where the TJ's were put. They told me they would adjust them if needed--just bring in a target with a good grouping with the distance indicated. But, it's shooting to POA.
I would get a sight pusher if they weren't so expensive. I don't do enough sight installing or adjusting to justify it yet. Original Glock sights seem to move okay with some careful drifting with a soft punch.

Midway has Meps for the mid $60's IIRC. I recently put a set on my G36 using my tabletop drill press & vise.
Using Aluminum vise jaw pads (Scrap angle) and wrapping the slide w/ paper to prevent scratches, I set the slide under the drill press. Using a 3/16" bit installed backward in the chuck, I used the base of the drill bit as a press pin and pushed the old out (Left to Right) and new in (Reverse). It helped to hold the vise/ slide in position with my fingers and press on the side of the drill bit w/ thumb to hold the tip right at the edge of the sight base, which prevents slipping and scratching. For me, it's way more controllable than tapping with a hammer and punch. I centered the sight by eyeball, then measured w/ calipers. Spot on windage at 25 yards.
For the front, I used a 3/16" thin wall nut driver. Maybe $3 for a good one at Sears. Be gentle.
Dealer price for Trijicon sights is probably $45-60 or so. Your stated installed price is kind of steep.

$110 sounds fair to me. I sell Trijicon Night sights for around $89 and $10 for installation. The Trijicon Novak Night Sights for the Glock (special order models) are around $120.

Check with www.glockmeister.com
The night sights are 85 bucks and I think they will install them for free if you send them your slide............One day turnaround......Call their 800 number first to find out if they are still doing free installation and how to send the slide to them.....

When I bought my Glock 30, I bought Trijicon night sights at the same time and the gun shop installed them for free.
