K ive been interested in getting a 357 sig for a while now
its become pretty popular here in Australia since 2003 when they changed our laws and restricted us to .38cal

so anyway ive seen quite a few glock 22's around that were sold off by some private security companies (there was a big clean up here in my state which meant some couldnt keep there licenses - hence alot of dealers around have a whole bunch of slightly used 22's sitting around)
So just wanted to know a few things.

1. I know you can put a standard 357 barrel in the 22 and use the same mags? same recoil spring and other bits? i myself am 99% sure but just wanna know up front
2. The whole KBoom thing (yeah i know it can happen in all guns etc) has it happened much compared to the .40's? i know that has been beaten to death just thought id ask
3. What sorta pressure do most 357 rounds produce? .40 does about 35k psi dosent it?
4. .40mags will work fine?? had to ask again
5. As for ammo i can get a good amount of FMJs till i get enough brass to reload - as for good JHP's ive only seen advertised here so far Federal PS357s1 and hornady 147gn custom, i noticed federal use a magnum primer for that load which concerns me, anyone have any pics of fired federal rounds from glocks? just would like to see the strikes, anyone hear of any light strikes using these rounds?
sorry this is a long thread asking alot of questions that may seem strange, just things id like to know before i decide to do it.
Ive only got 9mms at this point, before the laws changed a i had a few .40's .45's for years so i think its time for something new :)

Just a barrel will do.
Most mags will work.
Some 10-round .40s were reported not to work.
.357 Sig pressures are above 40K if I recall...

I have a Storm Lake 357 barrel for my 22. I love shooting it! I originally wanted a 31 but the darn cost of ammo was the deciding factor. The gun performs flawlessly with the barrel.

This way, I can just get a 50 rnd box when I'm in the mood for some speed!:2gun:

mike 23 what kinda mags are you using?
just the standard .40 mags?
im thinking i may just get some 357 mags anyway but if the 40s work ill stick with em

When I carried my G31, my carry load was the 147gr offering from Hornady. In my informal testing this load was the most accurate for me in my gun. I wouldn't get myself too concerned regarding Federal's primers. It's been my experience that Federal has some of the softest primers in the business, which isn't a bad thing in a defensive load. Stock up on both, I doubt you'll be disappointed.:)

ok sounds good i shall buy plenty of both
i found that too using federal primers they were very soft i suppose even there magnum primers wouldnt be much heavier than a CCI which ive used 1000's of in my glocks, seems to be all coming together now cant wait to start making noise with it :50cal: thanx for the reply PM Tommy, Appriciated.
