Hello All,
Looking for some input on a shot timer. Started participating in a IPSC shooting league at my local range and would like to buy a timer for personal practice. Our league and Tactical training class use the Pocket Pro II but I've seen others on the net too. Any advice on which brand and who has the best price? Anyone got a used one they dont use?
Thanks!

I have not seen a CED 7000 in person yet.
But it and the Game-boy type CED 800 have what I consider a helpful feature for solo training. They have a ten-string memory. So you can shoot the same drill ten times and then review for improvement and consistency.
I like the PACT brand timers because they have the loudest buzzers.
Some of the newer ones have more features like multiple par strings and such, I find a louder buzzer more important for me.

Almost too loud. I do like my Pact though.

The CED 7000 looks interesting but I think I would still prefer my 8000. For practice purposes it's big screen is nice and the adjustable angle display is great on the range and dry fire using it on your belt. You can just look down and use it w/out having to unclip it. The best feature is the ability to use earphones to dry fire without bothering your family etc... Especially nice for hotel dryfire. You can also easily program multiple par times so you don't have to constantly restart the timer. A great feature. I'm not sure if you can do that with the 7000.
I used to use the Pact Club timer. Great timer for the range. The newest version is seriously loud. I just couldn't justify their big MKIV timer/chrono system. Lot's of bells and whistles but the size of the thing was the deal killer for me.
The pocket pros are good. But I prefer the CED for training purposes.

I really like my CED 8000, but I record a lot of data when I train, and the screen on the 8000 is great for that.
I have a pact and ced 8000.
The Pact is the one I use most for dryfire and practice. It also doubles as a chrono, which is REALLY nice. The 8000 travels with me for matches.
Pact
-easiest to set par times for dry fire
-chrono
-easy to set for multiple comstock stings for practice
-large for a timer
-not as intuitive as 8000
-9v battery
Ced 8000
-compact
-beep is NOT standard (.5 instead of .3)
-lots of function but not as fast as pact to set
-alarm clock
-rechargable
-stealth mode, which I've never seen on any other timer. It allows you to track another shooter's times.

My CED 8000 uses a 9V battery and any of the settings are really fast.

Thanks for all the feedback. Much appreciated.
Any others??
The CED 7000 is what I have. Best for solo practice, keep it on your weak arm, and it's very functional. Looks like an iPod! Multiple par strings are very important too! Especially when working with the Steve Anderson book or a drill regimen that is similar.
