I have been using the Hi-Viz large .125 dot front sight like this one: http://www.hivizsights.com/Handgun-Glock-Tactical-Overmolded-Front-Sight-P80C11.aspx on my G23 and G27 and like it a lot. I think the overmolded approach is good and I have pretty many rounds through the G23 without problems and I have friends that are fairly high volume shooters that use them without problems as well. I have the Yo-Bo rear sight like this one: http://www.yostbonitz.com/bigphoto/products/glocksight/glock2.jpg on the G23 and have another one for the G27 that I need to get fitted. I am very happy with this combination but I have added a G35 and that presented a couple of issues…
One, the slot in the top of the slide extends far enough rearward that it would undermine the part of the slide that the Hi-Viz front sight would sit on. If nothing else it would look goofy, even though it would probably work fine. Second, I would really like to have a nice durable, low adjustable sight on the G35.
I am in my late 40s and appreciate the .125 glowing front sight very much. I shot the G35 indoors last night and all that damn white on the sights just seemed to glare at me. At least that is the excuse I am clinging to why I shot like crap. I can shoot pretty well but always seem to have trouble indoors.
It seems like most FO sights are just blade sights with a hole for a piece of plastic that don’t present that big of a dot. Plus the light pipe is just stuck in there. I am not worried about changing the thing, I just want a big visible dot without a bunch of blade around it. This one http://www.hivizsights.com/GL2007---Glock-Standard-Front-Sight---Overmold-Design-P98C11.aspxlooks like it might be OK but will still extend back over the slot.
And I would like a nice simple low adjustable sight that would work in conjunction with whatever I end up with in the front. I been surfing but thought I would ping the group here for input.
