View Full Version : USPc .40 vs .45 (size comparisons only).
Posting for a friend:
I am trying to avoid a caliber debate here. I own a USPc .40 and am curious about the practical size comparison between the .40 and .45. Height, width, length etc. Can a .45 USPc fit in a holster made for the .40?
Talking raw numbers, their web site says all measurements are the same except length. Wanted opions from people who own / owned both.
TIA.
Yes, it will fit. Yes, it is a bit longer. Also, the grip is a bit longer in the bore axis. Everything else is the same.
I have pictures on my computer at home comparing the two; I own the .45, a pal has a .40. Send me a PM here with an e-mail address, and I'll send the pics to you if you're interested.

Are you sure the slide on the .45 and .40 compacts are the same size? The .40 and .45 fullsize USPs are not the same and the holsters are not interchangeable unless its a sloppy, poor quality holster.

I didn't say they were the same size; the .45 slide is a bit longer. They are same in other dimensions. And we are talking COMPACT USPs, not full size. I have no idea about the comparison fo full size guns.
Would you consider a Sparks Versa-Max II to be a sloppy, poor quality holster???? My pal has one for his USPc .40.
My USPc .45 slips right in.
Would you consider a Kramer belt scabbard to be a sloppy, poor quality holster???
I have one for my USPc .45. His USPc .40 fits it like a glove.

Easy now partner, I clearly stated I was speaking about fullsize USPs whose slide dimensions vary in more ways than length. I was wondering because I would be surprised if the compacts were not similarly designed. I was just seeking clarification.
No, I don't consider the products you mentioned to be poor quality.

Okay... sure fooled me. I could have sworn you were questioning the statement that the compact slides were identical except for length.
I'd be slightly retarded to make that statement, and offer to back it up with photographs, if it weren't the case... eh?
Please understand that, personally, I really don't care if you (or anyone) believes what I say or not. I was simply responding to a query on a topic that I have some personal knowledge of. But, to be "challenged", when I offered documented proof, was a bit annoying.
And I'm equally certain that you did not intend to insult; but that's the way it looked to me at first read.
So, no drama here. I do, however, need to stay off this thing until I've had my breakfast and coffee...;)
I thought the usp/c slide was a tad taller and thicker...
cheers,
Derek
