I was wondering who has a crimson trace laser on their G30 and how does it feel in the hand. Also, I noticed it is offered for the G30 but not the G21. Dont they have the same thickness?

If not, just call the 800 number shown and ask. Team CTC-Joe 1-800-442-2406 Administrator "Helping bad guys make informed decisions" Re: Glock Laser Grip ? The LG-617 will not fit the Glock -19. The LG-617 is designed to fit all the full sized frame pistols like the Glock 17, 22, 24, 31, 34, 35 and 37. Our LG-619 fits the compact framed Glocks Like the 19, 23, 32, 38. Your glock 17 and 19 are actually the same width, the differences in lasergrips is more about how quickly the angle of the backstrap comes up. Hope this helps. Random pics with your hand on the pistol would be prefered. Maybe some night shots. CTfam 10-29-2006, 22:42 I understand that the G-30 and G-21 grips are angled different but I am wondering why they dont offer these grips for the 21. I figured maybe the company thought with the thickness of these pistols no one would put extras on the grip. I want some for a G-21! :steamed: dglockster 10-30-2006, 07:18 It appears that Crimson Trace is working to develop a laser for the G21: http://forums.crimsontrace.com/index.php?topic=33029.msg1538#msg1538 I'd still call the 800 number above and ask about it. You know the squeaky wheel . . . G20-IWB24/7 10-30-2006, 17:28 With regards to your question about finding LG's for your G21, so long as it is an early 3rd Gen gun, (not new w/in about 6-8 months), the LG617's will work. I have a set of LG617's for my 4 year old gen 3 Glock 20, and they work just fine. I even took them off to see if they would fit on my new G30 and they do! They even shot to point of aim w/out readjusting. I asked the experts at CTC and they said that the LG617 is not designed to fit on the G30 and I am "on my own" to use them as such. Well, it's in my holster as I type this, so, I guess I'm ON MY OWN!!! Recent, very very subtle changes (6-8 months ago) on the Large 3rd gen frame (G20/G21) have made the 617's not fit properly anymore. They are working to remedy the problem, I guess, with new grips that are specifically designed for the G20/21. Team CTC-Joe 10-31-2006, 15:56 I can answer this for you. The Lasergrip that was designed to fit the Glock-21, no longer fits the Glock-21. Glock Inc did what is known as a running change, that is to say that they changed a product without renaming or revisioning it. Long story short, Our LG-617 was designed to fit the Glock 17, 17L, 22, 24, 31, 34, 35, 37. It also fit the Glock 20 and 21s with thirds generation frames as they were simular enough to the G-17 for the Lasergrip to fit repeatably reliably. Somewhere in the "H" serial number series of third generation frames, Glock changed the dimensions of thier 20, 21 frame subtly, (I assume to provide the nessesary room for the internal locking system, but cannot confirm this) This change causes the Lasergrip to no longer fit. (regardless if it has a lock in it or not) So, since this change, the LG-617 will fit 3 generation 20 and 21 frames up to, but not including H,I,J,K,L, serial number series. This is why, after the change, any reference to the G-20 and G-21 was dropped. I hope this helps clear any confusion, Joe CTfam 10-31-2006, 20:52 Hey thanks for the info Joe. I didn't even know they offered them for the 20/21s in the past since I didnt see them on the website. Do you think them will come out with a model to match the new production 20/21s? The LG-617 was designed to fit the G-17 full size frame. whiskey_moodz 11-01-2006, 15:33 I just bought and older G21C the serial # starts with a ESL... so you are saying that I fit under that cap to have the LG617 fit on my 21??? Sorry for the delay on gettting those pictures posted up here. I am waiting for night fall to get those night shots that you all wanted,.. I am probably one of the few that would be interested in this product but I wish I could start a petition or something. Crimson Trace makes a great product and Im not interested in any other lasers. talrx1 11-01-2006, 22:14 i just installed one on my g-27. i like it. doesn't change the grip too much, nothing a few trips to the range can't fix anyways. heres a pic. http://app.onlinephotofiler.com/images/A_5/6/6/0/665/ct27.Large.jpg?v=ce75 whiskey_moodz 11-05-2006, 15:42 Sorry it has taken me so long to post.. CTfam 11-07-2006, 21:56 We all need to email Crimson Trace and tell them to start producing these grips for the NEW 21/20 frames. Thanks again. Sorry to hear about that, I hope you are better, I have a question about the windage and elevation adjustmenst. After installing the CTC did you have to adjust it much. I want the CTC for a Model 30 and want to keep the factory sites but want to have it "Dead-On" at say 10 yards. Your thoughts. Okay I will run down I set the windage & elevation. From the factory it looks about dead on give or take a little. But to try and make it dead on I took the CTC and place it on my buddies g-30 because he had the lasermax unit installed. I figured if I aim it with that it would be dead on.. OH How I WRONG I was. It made the dot way out of wack when I went shooting. So what I did .. while at the range and tweeted it on the range. Now.. mine is just like the commercial. Where that laser hit the bullet goes. I am with you I planned to keep the factory sites on my pistol but I do enjoy having the CTC on my G30 Dean 11-11-2006, 17:39 I am very impressed by my Crimson Trace laser sight. The palm swells make my G23 fit my hand much better. This is a must have accessory for me. I also have Crimson Trace laser grips on my J-frame S&W .38. The Crimson Trace laser grip ( I prefer the LONGER grip, which gives you more grip length than standard J-frame grips ) turns a marginally accurate .38 caliber BUG into a formidable primary defensive weapon. CCW? Get yourself a Glock. Put a Crimson Trace laser sight on it and carry it with a round in the chamber on your strong side at the beltline in a non-collapsible retention holster. Sounds like good protection to me. vBulletin® v3.7.3, Copyright ©2000-2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. | ![]() |
