I am considering purchasing a P99c (9MM). Could anyone tell me if the warranty for the P99 series of pistols is the S&W "Lifetime" warranty, or just a standard 12mo. from Walther?
Also, I am a lefty.. Anything about the P99c that would be of concern to me regarding my "wronghandedness"?
It seems most folks recommend the "AS" trigger, does that sound right? I prefer a da first round then sa.. This is in fact the "AS" correct?
Thanks!

Yes the P99c/AS is DA/SA
the problem you might encounter being lefty is that the decocker is on the top left part of the slide.... and you either have to use your right hand to decock it or let go of the shooting grip to decock......but I am sure there is a lefty out there with a P99 that will give you more advice on that....
Right handed shooters can decock with the right thumb.
I would go and find a place to at least handel both.. the P99 and the P99c if no shoot them.
A weekend ago or so I met a member from another forum at the range... and he shot some of my walthers, when I unpacked my P99 he asked me if it was the compact version ??
I told him no it was the fullsize. The P99 is not as big as many other fullsize models and I find myself more and more drawn to the P99 over my P99c..... even with the P99c thumbrest mag inserted....
I know some will disagree with me... but half a inch on the barrel and half a inch in hight on the grip doesn't make such a big difference in CC to me but a lot in handling my gun when shooting.
The book says the Walther comes with a 12 month warranty.... but I have yet to hear somebody reporting that S&W turned a repair down on their Walther after the 12 months, that was a legit complaint about failure or need of repair....
S&W however does have some issues with backorders as of late... I heard a few people complaing about spare recoil assemblies and things like that not being in stock and taking forever to arrive from Germany....
Either of the 2 P99's are gret guns and worth every penny you pay for them

The decocker being on the top left is no problem as my current cc pistol of choice is a Sig P239.. Over the years I've learned to just to adjust to such things and consider it a small price to pay for all of the other "benefit's" of being wronghanded.. (Hey, at least my P5 DOES eject in the proper direction...)
I just got a response from S&W USA and they indeed verified the warranty on the P99's are 12/12. I hate that, as I just love lifetime warranties, expecially when backed by a quality Customer Service reputation (which S&W has). But I'm a senior citizen and I guess worrying about a lifetime warranty in my case is sorta unnecessary..
Thanks for your time.

Well if the warranty or being lefty is not a issue .... then all you have to do is pick either the P99 or P99c.....
On another note though........

Well my take on it is....... the P5 had a few reasons to eject left....it is a proven fact that righ handed shooters can clear a jam much faster with the ejector and ejection opening being on the left.... also another claim was made by somebody else on another forum regards left hand ejection
this was writen after the claim was made that left handed ejection can be irritating.
"""Actually the opposite is true for right handed shooters. It ejects to the left on purpose. Since the human eye is keyed to search for and react to movement and most shooters are right hand / right eye, the eye tends to notice and be distracted by the round flying off the to the right of most autos. The P5 sends it left so the shooter is less likely to notice it. Also, as Uncut noted, it is much easier to clear and FTE."""

Man! Just when I thought I was ahead of the game there ya go and tell me that for a "lefty" left-side ejection is a minus...
Just kiddin'
I've shot so many different pistols it really doesn't make any difference... I was just being a smart butt..
