I have been looking for one for a while. I picked this one up at a local pawn shop. It has a little pitting on the back of the slide but nothing too bad. I gave $150 for it.

You did good. Congratulations. Now take it apart and clean it up and inspect it inside:

$150, I'd say you did well, looks like a nice Bulgy. Getcha some red star grips for that true commie look.

Those red grips were the first thing to go, when I got mine. I found a set of black Baikal grips on ebay for about $5.....been on it ever since. I had a set of thumb rest grips....don't like those either. Also, had a set of the Pearce grips for a short while.....they're too fat for me!
Anyone really like those red grips? I thought they looked bad.

The Pearce grips are much more comfy for range use since they're a softer rubber and fill my hand better, but I do carry my Mak on occasion and they're a bit fat for concealment purposes. The red star grips are nice and thin, and I Dremeled off the lanyard loop so it doesn't jag me in the side. I never liked the thumbrest grips. The E German grips look pretty sharp but I don't have a set of those. After the new year I may look into getting a nice set of wood grips, just 'cause Maks look so darn sexy with the right wood.:hearts:
i remember getting a new in the green and white box bugi makarov back in 1998.it was a in raleigh n.c. at a gun show.man i paid 139 bucks plus tax.the guys behind the counter were working as many people at a time as they could(all the paperwork,id,permits etc...man what a deal that was.
the grip thats on you bulgi is very comfortable.i kept mine stock.sold it a while back but i still have my east german mak.:wavey:

I want the original grip!
Anyone have some commie grips they want to sell or trade?
I have some rosewood ambi 1911 grips and a Hogue J-frame mono.
Also interested in an original style holster and rod.
I would rather buy here from a member than from an online store.
