View Full Version : My heart was stolen by a G32 tonight
Did my usual Tuesday night defensive shoot with a new G32 instead of my usual G30 -- I'm now a fan. Recoil is minor -- I'm amazed that people kvetch about it -- much less than the G30, which is much less than a 1911. And it points very naturally -- I have to use a ghost ring due to a corneal scar that makes me see two rear sight notches with a normal sight -- the front sight was RIGHT THERE inside the ring when the gun came up on target. Gonna sell the G30 (which I though I would never do) -- this is the way I want to shoot.

i almost left the store with a used G32 today. it would have been my first 357 sig, but i wound up leaving with a trusty kimber. i think the G32 is next on the immediate list.

Less recoil than the 30? Sounds good. May sell the 30 and go 32.

Yes, I wouldn't have guessed it from the chart numbers -- I expected rough parity -- but the G32 has significantly less muzzle rise and backward force both. Apparently there is more muzzle blast -- the RO's notice it, but I don't, either because alongside is worse than behind, or I can't tell the difference with the 30dB cuffs I wear.

Seems like recoil hits us all differently. I had the 23 and it did not seem to harsh but the muzzle seemed to flip to the right when shooting it. It was hard to shoot accuratly for me.
Thinking maybe it was the recoil throwing me off I then got the 30. What I have shot so far seems more accurate for sure. But I had heard the 30 had a mild recoil. It seems harder to me to the point my wrist and forearm have been hurting for 4 days now since shooting.
When I had the 23 I almost got a 357 barrel for it but decided to go with the 30. Well I will try out another 50 rounds or so and if my arm feels like this. If so its back to the Gun show sell another Glock buy another Glock.
I just wonder if anyone else who has had a 30 and went 32 agrees with your comments about the recoil? I would like to feel pretty sure before going through another change.
Let me note that after two IDPA-style sessions a week apart my enthusiasm for the G32 remains unabated. Now that I have acquired some preban mags (we still have to do that in NY State to use hicaps) I am a very happy camper.
