View Full Version : Holster for Blackhawk
Got my eye on one from El Paso Saddlery, 1942 model. Looks like what I need. Anybody done any business with El Paso saddlery? Before I send 'em $100, I'd like to hear someone endorse them.
Not meaning to shunt you off to the usual "try the search engine" routine, but some casual perusing in the last few weeks leads me to think there are some mixed feelings about EPS out there these days. A specific search in Carry Issues or the Wheelgun area might also yield some specific impressions. I've read it all from "they're great even though they take 6-8 months" to "expensive and not worth the long wait." Might try limiting your searches to those two fora, with El Paso Saddlery" in your key and no older than 3 months or so.
Good luck.

I cannot speak for their 1942 model, (you mentioned), which is called their "military model," But i do own and use a couple of their 'western' models as pictured here....

I have some nice custom built rigs, buy 'other people', but i 'do own' 'and use' this model (above), from EPS, and they have been tuff as nails, well built, and no problems. They are pretty old though, so i cannot speak for 'todays quality.'
I just know that thus far, everything i have bought or seen from them, has been very good... But they have all been 'western holsters'.
HTH's... Good luck.

and ordered the holster from EPS. Should have it in 6 weeks, in time to take it and the .45 LC/ACP convertible Blackhawk to Bandera for a much anticipated camping trip in the Hill Country. Life is good.

Hoss, I really don't think you will be dissipointed. As i said, i don't know about that 'particular style,' you were wanting, but i'm sure it would be the same quality as the ones i have bought from them in the past, and they take a real beating, and work great for the price. I think you'll be happy with them. ;)
Have Fun on your trip!
