Well, I went and renewed my permit, on Nov 10th. Let's see how long it takes to get it back.
Hopefully it will take less time than Forsyth County took to issue my original. I waited 13 weeks for it.

I am at 84 days and counting right now for Cobb County.
Check out the forum at www.georgiapacking.org for more info on renewals and temporary permits.

I did not ask for a temp as my previous permit was not expired yet. I got my new permit the day BEFORE my other one expired!!!
It took 88 days

You are entitled by a state law to have a temporary issued if you are within 90 days before or 30 days after the expiration of your current license.
There is more information here, including a quote from the relevant statute (http://georgiacarry.org/cms/category/action-items/temporary-licenses/).

It took me 8 weeks exactly. I had to go in and get it, but I got a temp while I waited. It took me 6 months to get my permit for work. Before 911 you could get your permit in 10-12 days.

HK_Rebel, Would you mind providing your personal experiences over at http://www.georgiapacking.org/index.php ? They have a page with all 159 counties listed and are trying to collect information on them all.
It is also a great forum for Georgia-specific discussions.

Cairo is in Grady County. The web site instructions say:
"Renewals usually take three (3) to five (5) business days."

Did you get a temporary renewal license?
Did they require your SSN and employment information?
Did they issue the 5 year license yet? The statute says they have only 60 days, and the new amendment in July makes the instant NICS check mandatory! Instant means, well, like, today.

It took them long enough :burn: , but I finally got my new (or should I say "Renewed") "GA Firearms License" today.
It took 110 days (16 weeks), but al least I'm legal again!!

Loganville - mostly in Walton County, partly in Gwinnett.
Gwinnett now issues temporary renewal licenses!

Was this before or after July, when the General Assembly mandated new fingerprinting at each renewal?
