I am really enjoying my first h&k.
I really like the way it shoots but I am somewhat disappointed that it is not more easily concealed.
My points of reference are a Kahr PM9 and a Springfield Compact .45.
It took me 2 tries making an iwb holster to get the gun tucked into my side as well as I would like – I wish I could improve it more but…. I think its as good as it will get for me at 5’3”.
I ended up at about a 19deg angle and moved the belt loop as far towards the trigger guard as possible without interfering with grip during draw.
I did remove the “fins” from both sides of the trigger so that my belt did not pull the leading edge (which is rear site and hammer) of the holstered gun away from my body.
Removing the material really did make a difference for how the pistol angled. I do not feel that I am at anymore or less risk of accidental mag release.
What I would like to know is how do you guys carry the double stack mags without them sticking out like a sore thumb as well as not being very comfortable iwb?
I would also like to find flush floorplates for some of my mags. I wish h&k had made the floorplate design more like a single stack design. I realize it is easier to grab and insert into pistol but I never really have trouble with mags for my Kahr or Springfield.
Let me know what you guys do.
Thanks,
David
