View Full Version : Sta-Lube grease
Good Afternoon guys. I was just wondering if anyone out there is familiar with Sta-Lubes multi purpose Super White Grease. Now Ive been using Breakfree CLP to lube my Glocks up until now.....But since I have a big ole tub of unopened stay lube white grease I was wondering if I could use it in lieu of the CLP when it runs out.......I appreciate it Guys!

Though I'm not an expert on Glock lubrication, I'll throw in a couple of pennies worth.
The Sta-Lube Super White grease is a lithium based grease of NLGI 2 thickness. You will probably find it heavy enough (particularly in colder weather) to significantly slow the slide operation, and may experience feeding/extraction issues. Most of the greases that I'm aware of in the firearms field are NLGI 1 or less for just this reason.
Compared to aluminum bases, lithium grease doesn't have the water resistance, nor the resistance to high/low pH. I've found that they also oxidize more rapidly, though if you're maintaining the gun properly (regular cleaning and lubing) than this may not present a problem.
Bottom line: check for operational issues thoroughly, and if the gun performs up to your liking, use it.
For more info, I have this little article on my website:

Hope this helps!
Mr C, thanks for the insight....and GREAT article. Gonna try and get some NLGI 0 or 1 from work ;) . the ATF is a winner as well.
Thanks
