Well I went and got a USP 9MM. I have been in NC for about 3 months and found a great gun store there. I ended up trading in the Wilson CQB for a P220 and a USP 9MM. (Wilson did me wrong. Won't be carrying anymore of their products.) Now here is the question... (I couldn't find the answer using the search feature)

If I want Glock parts and accessories I go to Glockmeister... If I want H&K parts and accessories where do I go? Also, can I send the H&K in and have it converted to Variant 7?

other than that..... Go to HKpro.com..... best info you will ever find.. whatever you need, you will either find a source or somebody that has it for sale.....
Also .. yes you can send your USP in and have it converted to var.7...however any competend gunsmith should be able to do it no problem

V7, is that the varient where you can keep it "cocked and locked"

I had a USP45c that I believe was V7. I "might" be aquiring a fullsize USP45 and the guy said its a LEM trigger. I didnt know they had that option. However Ill prob want to get it changed to V7 after I get it, I dont care for LEM. Does HK charge for the swap?

The Variant 7 is the LEM trigger. No selector lever on it at all. I have to say I think H&K got the LEM trigger right! I was messing around with a USP 40S&W in Variant 7 and I love it. I also like the P2000. That is one smoothe trigger!

Ummmm are you sure about the LEM
I thought the V.7 was the true DAO with no selector....
doublecheck that .... that will make a worlds difference in triggertravel and weight

though I think you can have your USP converted to LEM..... but it is not V7... as back in the days there was no such thing as a LEM at all.

Ok just to make sure some don't get confused......
Version 1-10 are all with control lever as pictured in the above link...

You can convert your USP to the LEM trigger... the variants there however have their own designation... 1-5
they are all except for the v.3 the same (LEM/CDA or as some call it the light DAO) and just differe in trigger pull weight
V3 is the DA/SA setup.... however I think that only applies to the P2000 series....since the original V3 and V4 on USP already are DA/SA just with the decocker on different sides of the frame

No, variant 7 does NOT have a control lever.

You are correct about the P2000 being different in the fact that their style is different.... but when it comes to the trigger the LEM on the P2000 is the same than in the USP (pull weight) if you install the LEM afterwards
the version 1,2,4,5 on the P2000 will reflect same triggerweight as the LEM version that you can convert your USP to

If I'm not mistaken the Variant 7 also has a second strike capability. It also has a hammer as does all of the H&K's in the USP line and P2000 line. Also the trigger pull is the same in all of the Variant 7's. According to H&K USA the LEM is the Variant 7 and the Variant 7 is the LEM.

It would not be a DAO if it could not do a second strike...

LEM is the light DAO trigger system, like what is used on the P2000 and P2000SK. The LEM can also be had as an additional variant on the USPC and USP.
The normal 1-10 variants on the USP and USPC are:
Right hand-odd numbers.
Left hand-even numbers.
1,2=SA/DA safe decock
3,4=SA/DA decock only
5,6=DAO, safety
7=DAO, no control lever.
8=same as 7 but with high powered night sights. Not imported into the USA
9,10=SA/DA, safe only.

LEM triggers are entirely different. They use a preloaded hammer to make the pull very much ligher than the normal V5,6,7,8 DAO pulls which is about 13 pounds. The LEM also retains double strike capability.
They come in 5 variants:
V1=5 pound DAO pull
V2=8 pound DAO pull
V3=SA/DA, decock only. Pull the same as a USPC or USP
V4=7 pound DAO pull
V5=10 pound DAO pull



LEM is nothing like V5,6,7
also the trigger travel/reset on a LEM is shorted than on a DAO

V7 is a DAO. Plain DAO.
LEM is an upgrade/add-on that makes the weapon DAO with much lighter trigger pull. It has an internal hammer which is cocked when racking the slide. It´s held cocked by the sear and when squeezing the trigger, the already partly compressed hammer spring (compressed by the internal hammer) is much lighter to draw back untill the gun fires. It can be installed on all USP frames regardless of the current variant because hte USP is a module/modular weapon. Meaning that it can be changed to all 10 variants (9 to be exact )from all of the existing variants.

1,2,9 and 10 are "cocked and locked" variants.
