Just got my firts HK handgun. is a 45 usp full size. Overall a beatiful gun but the double action trigger is terrible in my opinion. Any fix to it?

I polished the trigger parts on mine. It improved the SA pull a tad bit and really smoothed out the DA pull. The DA pull is so long though that it'll never be as good as a Sig's DA. I find the DA more useable now, but carry cocked and locked all the same.

Where do you polish to smooth out the trigger?

I just lightly did all trigger parts and such that interact using 1500 grit. Don't screw with the engaging surfaces of the sear and hammer. The innards of my HK were gunked up from a lot of rounds, so deburring, polishing, cleaning, and lubing made a massive improvement.
Detailed Take Down (http://www.streetpro.com/usp/detail/dst.html)
Here's a link to a guy that walks thru the process of aTrigger Polishing (http://www.eskimo.com/~jbm/personal/usp_trigger/usp_trigger.html).
If you haven't done anything like it before I'd suggest doing it on a Glock first since it's parts can be replaced for under $20 if you get overzealous and the Glock is a lot less tedious of a job. Don't over do it, just polish. If you want to play it safe just polishing the trigger bar and trigger bar hinge on the trigger will make a little difference. Like anything else it'll void your warranty (just taking it apart) so if that matters to you don't bother.

Practice Practice Practice! I just got my first USP Compact .45acp about a week ago. Got some snap caps and practice dry fire at least 50 shots a day, 20 of which are DA. I don't see the DA trigger pull as being that bad now compared to the first day.
But I do agree, not as good as Sigs.
