New G21-SF "slime frame" For 2007?

For those that haven't seen the original thread in the General Glocking page here, any input on the so-called G21-SF (slim frame) for 2007?

Apart from the slimmer frame, it's also equipped with an ambidextrous mag release and a new picatanny-style forward accessory rail. Lots of folks are discarding this as pure rumors or entirely bull since no one has posted "official" pictures; but, the general consenus seems to be that the new G21-SF is indeed REAL (to be unveiled at Shot Show 2007?).
Evidence that sort of backs this up is the fact that a lot of folks have been posting pictures of a newly designed G21 hi-cap 13rnd. mag that Glock dealers have recently been stocking up on (new cut / slot indicates an "ambidextrous" mag release design). Also, there's at least ONE dealer site out there already listing the part#'s for the new G21-SF (it's mentioned in the link provided above).

I, for one, hope this is all true. I don't have large paws like most others, but I can handle my G21 fairly decently. If a "slimmer" G21 is set to be released, this is something I am DEFINITELY looking forward to.
Any personal input on all this news from the rest of you 21'rs?

I'm not a 21'er simply because I find the current G21 too fat and bulky. Now should this slimline become reality, I'm willing to change my tone :supergrin:

Just when I thought my G37 was the end all... I'm looking forward to seeing the new 21 in the flesh. My guess is it may reduce dimensions enough to be suitable for big paw's instead of just huge paw's.

This isn't such a great boon for me since I've come to love the grip on my G20/G21 more than the "standard" size models. But all I can say to Glock about this possible new model is "IT'S ABOUT FRIGGIN' TIME!!!!"

It has pained me to see so many consumers swayed away from my beloved Glocks due to the lack of a hi-cap .45 (or 10mm, for that matter) that has a thinner grip. The .45 XD has been out for a while now, and based on my conversations with gun store employees/owners, the .45 XD has been putting a thumping on the G21 sales. I like the XD, but I still think the Glocks are superior to the XD for a variety of reasons. That said, you can't argue with those that wanted a hi-cap .45 but didn't wan't a thick grip.

This G21 "SF" model, when and if it becomes available, will also be a weapon that will be a much easier sale in the law enforcement community. As the firearms instructor/advisor in my police department, I have long wanted to switch to .45 Glocks from our current S&W 4566TSW's (which have had reliability issues), but it has never been a viable option due to the thick grip and the possibility of incompatibility with women and small-handed male officers. And finally there will be a Glock model that will allow PD's to use the ballistically superior .45acp versus my most hated cartridge, the .40 S&W. (Sorry, .40 lovers! And I don't mean that totally seriously. It's just that since I'm personally a 10mm man, the .40 S&W is still an emasculated 10mm when you get right down to it!)

Let's hope Glock takes back its place on the top of the heap with this new model. The ambi mag release will also be a great addition for some. (Not so much for me 'cause I'm a righty anyway).

John Farnam has an article in the Jan 07 issue of SOF on this. There will be 2 new models of .45 acp from Glock. A full size double column GSF45 and a full size slime line G36T.

Looks like the 36T will need a forum of it's own eh?
