Got my holiday bonus and ended up purchasing a Mossberg 590, parkerized finish, 20in barrel w/9 shot capacity. The finish contrasts with the black hardware for a nice looking gun but I feel that the stock is a bit long for me. As finances permit, I plan on adding: 1) Knoxx Spec Ops stock w/ shell holder 2) XS or MMC Ghost Ring rear with XS front tritium insert and 3) Surefire forend, in that order. One thing I could use some input on: I was also planning to add a Wilderness single point sling adapter between the Knoxx stock and the reciever. Is the sling adapter I mentioned compatible with that stock? Any input or comments are much appreciated!

Edited to add: I'll take number #42 if that's ok :)

I bought my Mossy on Black Friday from Dick's...after all discounts, gift cards...$280 out the door. I'm planning on putting the same stuff on mine as well. However, I've been recommended to purchase a two point sling instead of a single point...something about it having the ability to rack your jewels. I'm going to run some shells through her Thursday before a Defensive Pistol course that I'm taking. As for home defense...stoke her with Hornady TAP 00 Buck.

Sounds like this one. I also find the OEM stock too long, so I lopped off two inches. Sling is CQB Solutions, light TLR-1 on a sleeve mount.

Mossberg sells there own ghost sights.
They're out there...you just have to find the ones you like.

You may want to check your sight. The pattern is a bit to the left.

I'm aware of that. That gun is zeroed for a minimal deviation for each of the three loads it has to use: the Federal Tactical 1oz slug, OOB, and the CTS Super Sock.

I just got a Mossberg 590 this week. So far I've added a Tacstar 4 shell sidesaddle and have the Knoxx SpecOps stock on order.

We'll see if it does everything it says it does with recoil reduction. My concern is that it will hinder operation of the slide release. I'm not worried about the safety - it'll always be off as I won't keep the shotgun chambered. That way I won't have to fumble with it - my drills will be "rack and attack".

I'm also going to try mounting my Streamlight TL-3 light. I've ordered a remote switch with a coiled cord so we'll see how that works - it's a bright light (211 lumens) compared to the Surefire 623FA which is 65 lumens with the standard P60 bulb or 120 lumens with the high output bulb.
I'll post some pics when it's all done.

I picked up a Mossy 590 a couple weeks ago at Big 5 Sporting Goods. It was advertised for $219.99. With a 10% internet coupon and tax it came out to $210.and change. I'll never get a good deal like that again. It has the heatshield and lug. I also put a Knoxx SpecOps stock on it. It shoots sweet.

Originally when I first saw the ad. I thought it was the Maverick 88.
I went in and the sales guy said it was the 590. I snatched it up real quick. I picked up a shotgun that lists for a $100.00 more than the one that I thought was being advertsed. Big 5 is always running ads for this price +/- $10.or $20.00. I'm impressed with their selection and prices.

I've got a 590 with the compstock. back in those days, it was the only option for a recoil reducing stock. I love it, so I have no doubt that you'll find their products work as advertised.

I too have mine set to "pump and shoot." I don't keep the safety on.

Lastly, how are you going about mounting the TL3 to your mossy? is the coiled switch a streamlight product too?

I went with a litemount holder and a Surefire G2 with a tacstar coiled pressure pad. works great, but I am wanting to update the whole thing to LED and was kinda thinking about the TL3-LED route.

I've got picts if you want.

I plan on using just a magazine "figure 8" clamp to hold the flashlight. the coil switch is a streamlight product.

I believe it's streamlight part # 88186
I thought about LED but ended up going for high output. I may get an LED one later anyways...

I went this route and love it. Ofcourse the version i got only has a provision for the light. I didnt need the laser loop. Just double check the outside diameter of your flashlight. It turns out that my surefire G2 is 26mm which does NOT equal 1".
