If I wanted to get started as a gunsmith, what would be the first step? Classes, videos, books, prayer? I have loved and used guns, especially pistols, all of my life and it would be a great thing if I could possibly make a living doing something I enjoy for a change.
Thanks for the info.

I went to Trinidad State Junior College AAS in gunsmithing. Can't beat that type of training , but you need two years and two boat loads of money.

I wanted to send my son to a school to learn to be a gunsmith. I ended up settling on the HTBL in Ferlach Austria. It is a 4 year school training you to make guns. By hand, with nothing but a file. The best part is, is that it is FREE!
Well, the school is free, I still have to house and feed my son, which can be pricey, being Austria and all. It was kind of easy for me to send him there, because I live in Germany and speak german. But.... while I was there, I met a 60 something year old american from Florida, who also was attending the school. He spoke no german (which is what they speak in austria), and had only visited Europe on a 2 week vacation, and he graduates this year.
Look it up on google or if you want more info go to www.htl-ferlach.at

Now that is a cool school. Oh well it's a little late for me now.
If school is too much the Americian Gunsmithing AGI videos are pretty good.
