I just purchased a NIB blued PPK/S which was built in 1980 in West Germany. Beautiful!
However, I plan to shoot this gun, as I do not believe guns were meant to simply sit around being looked at and admired. I would much rather have someone admire the tight groups my guns produce!
At any rate, I was wondering if it would be wise to replace the springs in the pistol prior to taking her out to the range? I could contact Wolff Springs and order up a spring kit, but don't know if I need to or not???
Also, would you suggest an "extra power" spring of any type (i.e. recoil spring, hammer spring, magazine spring, etc.) or simply go with the factory standard spring tensions???
Being an "older" gun, I don't want her to get beaten up too badly simply because I neglected to realize that 26-year old springs just might have lost some of their "oomph"!
What are your thoughts?
Thanks in advance!
