View Full Version : Removing 3rd gen finger grooves
Has anyone done this? I have a 3rd gen model 23 that does not fit my hand well. I was wanting to know what is the best way to remove the figer grooves from the frame....hpg
I attended PFT's Defensive Hangun classes with the guy who owns this website. He is located in Charleston WV and does some nice work on Glocks. He can change grip angles, remove finger groove and even stipple the grip. I have seen his work first hand and it is impressive. There are several other modifications he makes on Glocks, give him a call and I'm sure he will send you picture of his work. For me, the best way was to buy a Gen 2.
Belt sander (or sand paper) generally works well on any soft materials. Go slow to avoid overheating and melting the polymer or removing more than you want.
Make sure you want to do this before starting, it will probably reduce the resale value of the gun. If you're planning on trading or selling it someday, it might be better to do so before attacking the frame.

It also voids the Glock warranty on the frame.
Find yourself a Gen 2 gun.

I can't stand the finger grooves either.
What in hell made them think everyone had the same sized fingers ?
Some gimmicks just kill the appeal of a gun. Fixed finger grooves is a big one on my list.

Its very rare I see a reduction job that I actually like. These guys seem to be one of the few that don't make the gun look like its been melted in a fire afterwards or stricken with some unknown pox.
