We once did a similar thing to a civilian car in Germany with an 8" hoitzer (1980's) but it was the result of being alerted at 3 am while the gun driver was still drunk, rather than intent. The Germans just appreciate the army buying them new cars ... fences, sidewalks, yards, etc.
