Can someone please list possible causes of a Glock slide locking back with several rounds still in the magazine? Thanks in advance.

- Shooter's thumb contacting slide lock during recoil (VERY common, shooter almost always says it CAN'T be that, is usually embarrassed to find out he's wrong). Lock/curl shooting-hand thumb WAY down, or up/away from frame, shoot a few magazines, see if it happens again. MOST PROBABLE CAUSE!
- Improperly assembled frame (spring leg of slide lock behind frame pin instead of below it). If you've recently disassembled frame for the first time, and never had the problem before, then this may be it.
Good luck!

Of course! Thanks, that makes perfect sense.
Yep, I had changed my grip after not shooting in a while. I was riding the slide stop with my thumb big time, which is comfortable, But I guess that is why Glock added the thumb rest on the frame.
Don't know if you have one, but the first thing I remove is the extended slide stop. If you set the gun up right you never have to touch it anyway.

That's a good point. It happened on a 21 with extendd release, and on a 19 with stock release. I agree though, and will remove the extended slide release. Good idea.

I know what you're sayin', but it's pretty hard to deprogram 20+ years of thumbing the slide release. Old dog, semi-new tricks, etc. I put the extended ones in every Glock I have, just in case I snap back to my old ways in a stressful situation.
I miss steam locomotives, too...

I have the standard flat slid stop levers new in the package, and will swap lever for lever for the extended ones...just shoot me a PM, and let me know how many standards you need.

I'm not sure I know what you mean. How would you set up the gun?
thanks bloodhound, but I have the standard slide stops too, don't really need any! But do you guys agree that the 45ACP uses a different slide stop?

That's a 5299 on top, which I'm guessing was in my 21. Can anyone tell me if their 21 or 30 uses the 5299 slide stop instead of a 2912?
