View Full Version : .357 sig questions
What is the recoil comparable to?
Thanks

Full power 357 Sig 124s have more muzzle flip than a 9 in the same size pistol but less hand bite and muzzle flip than full power 125s in 357 mag from a 4 inch revolver. (My subjective opinion)

Agree.
Good example IMHO.

And this makes perfect sense, as the bore axis in Glock 357 Sig is down much closer to the hand, compared to a revolver, making more of the recoil go back, rather than up.
Recoil impact -- how your hand feels after a hundred or more shots -- is similar to a Glock 45, and less than a 1911, for the same reason -- low bore axis. Muzzle flip is less than a 45, because the impulse is quicker. (also MSO)

Not much different than a .40SW. Snappier than a .45 and a standard 115gr 9mm, less snappy than 357mag. Feels like a .22 after shooting a .500SW! I am not sure what you've shot to use as a comparison.
My Sig P239 .357 is less snappy than the Glock 23 .40SW I tried (friends gun).
To me, it feels very close to my S&W 457 (alloy-framed .45 ACP).
I enjoy the amount of recoil, it's just right!
