Who Issues G21's

What Federal, State, and local police departments issue the Glock 21?

In my area the Tacoma, WA, PD approves the G21 as well as the G22 and a few Kimbers. The Pierce Co. Sheriff approves it as an authorized duty weapon, as does Denver, CO, the LAPD at least DID, and the Albuquerque, NM also allows it. Anchorage PD and the AK State Troopers also use it.

I don't really care one way or another I wouldn't want to get shot with anything but according to several articles written by Mas Ayoob. The Alaskan state police issue Glock 22 .40 cals

I believe ASP issues both the 21 and 22.

Omaha Police Dept. (Nebraska) authorizes G21s and G22s for uniformed carry. The weapons can be "C" models if the officer desires. While it's not in the SOP, many officers opt for the G30 or G23 in plainclothes.

No, you probably went to Casey, Illinois, for an ATV race. Lincoln Trail Motorsports hosts a pro ATV circuit race evey summer. As far as I know, Urbana has no MX tracks. Sorry to go so far off topic....:banana:

Anniston, AL Police Department currently issues GL17, but the GL21 is allowed. Several of their officers are carrying GL21.

The Hollis PD, Hollis Oklahoma. All 7 or 8 of them get the model 21...if they can keep that many officers. However, they can carry what they want.

Heard last night that there was a problem with the new 21.
The Ambi Safety is not very sturdy.
The mag will fall out at a slight rap to the side of the frame.
Has anyone else heard that?

We do, Franklin County SO. 21's are standard, some carry 30's. if you can qualify with it, you can generally carry it on duty.

The Orange County Florida Sheriffs Department Carries the Glock 21. The Seaford, Delaware and Bethany Beach Police in Delaware do also.

I think you mean the ambi magazine release as the 21sf doesn't have an ambi safety or any manual safety at all. If anything a loaded magazine in a 21sf is Harder to release than the regular 21 not easier. I've never heard of any mag dropping problems at all.

Williamsport City Police Williamsport PA, Issues G21 as its Standard Issue Duty weapon With Kimber TLE II/RL as an Optional Duty Weapon for those that are SRT as of Current only Approx 8 Carry Kimbers of 79 Officers Most chose the Glock 21. The Previous Issued Weapon was 2nd Generation versions of the Glock 22 and 23 depnding on Officers Choice.

nice to see a few areas in PA mentioned here...especially in light of the PA State Police going the way of the .45 GAP chambered Glock pistols; I'm still a big fan of Beretta handguns, but the model 96D's the PSP have been relying on were getting a big long in the tooth; I'm not a big fan of the .40 S&W, but it has served and continues to serve many LE organizations across the nation; why the PSP changed calibers is a mystery in light of their use of .40 S&W ammunition...all they needed was to update the handguns

Especially when their SWAT and narc people were already carrying G22s and 23s.

As of 2 years ago, North Brunswick, NJ were carrying G21s. Only other gun authorized was the G30. That may still be the case today, just been out of touch.

ETA: I think the G30 was authorized after a few officers had trouble with the size of the G21's grip. I wonder if they're considering the G21SF?

Just finished a Tactical Pistol Course at Anniston AL PD range. One the instructors was an APD officer and he was carrying a GL 30 with fiber optic sights.

Does Sandy Springs carry the G21, G21SF, or the G37? I was under the impression they were toting G37's but I could be wrong.

They carry the G21SF according to the 2008 Glock annual autopistol mag. I guess thats where you got the pic from.
