Likely the best we could hope for would be for a barrel maker to offer a barrel in 10MM, the 10MM would work in a .45 breechface and 45 Magazines could have their feedlips pushed in some, and for all this to work. At least on Glocks the magazines already exist in 10MM.

I sent an e-mail to S&W inquiring as to whether there were any plans on the table to manufacture a 10mm version of the M&P. I dressed up the e-mail with some big compliments about S&W and told them how much I liked the .45acp version of the M&P after handling it at an IACP convention. I mentioned what a great carry-over of S&W tradition it would be if they made a 10mm since they made so many great 10mm models in the past. Then I put in a little "kicker" in an attempt to indirectly shame them into considering the 10mm. I said words to the effect that it bothered me as a "proud American" to know that only the foreign made Glock was the only "viable" self-defense and/or law enforcement firearm and it bothered me that this facet of handgunning was being dominated by a European company. (To be honest, I love Glocks more than anything, but I would still LOVE to see S&W produce the M&P in 10mm to broaden the platforms that are available.)
Despite my verbose efforts to inquire/pressure them about this matter, I got back this response:
<i><b>hi
no plans for a 10mm.i will pass on the suggestion
thanks
mo</i></b>
Oh, well. At least I tried.

I sent Smith an email, anyhow. I tried to explain that we're all nuts about the 10 and would jump at an M&P in 10.
I realy do believe it's an awsome improvement of the glock and one day I probly will go the converted .45 route if parts become avalable.:)
