Smithy 11-30-2006, 18:31 I recommend the Surefire X-200A. I know it is pricey, but it is small and excellent. Just suck it up and go for the best! You won't regret it. JoeSnuffy 11-30-2006, 21:15 Got them on a G20,G21 G19...great light for @ 100 bucks shipped http://www.copsplus.com/products/large/69110.jpg Streamlight TLR-1 LED Tactical Gun Mount Weaponlight These powerful, intensely bright, long-running, aluminum-bodied gun mount tactical lights set a whole new standard for durability. It has been adopted by SOCOM and all the deficiencies of the early M-3 have been corrected. It is water proof and shock proof. It is the brighest of the comparable weapons lights (120 lumens - enough to temporarily blind someone). The switch is the easiest to use ,and it also will mount the pressure activation switches. The battery life is also greater than the M-3 due to newer circuitry. It is also cheaper than the X-200. The Glock light is huge by comparison and I don't know of any holsters that will fit it. M1Garand 12-02-2006, 14:28 TLR-2 with both light and laser. Small, light weight, and durable with the new aluminum housing. I got one for my duty G21. Only $210 from Botach.com. jmb79 12-02-2006, 14:45 The only handgun mounted light I'll use is the Surefire X200A or X200B. Whichever fits you use. B Coyote 12-02-2006, 16:39 I'm very happy with my TLR-1. bc Bassman1985 12-08-2006, 13:07 Big +1 on the TLR-1. Plus, I found that range shooting with a light mounted actually helps reduce the muzzle flip. I just need to find a lens cover for my TLR, because WWB leaves lots of residue on the lens, turning the light into nothing more than a weight in about 50 rounds. Coat your lens with a light film of oil or CLP before you shoot. It cleans easily and quickly if you do. Be sure to reapply the CLP/oil before you start shooting again. If you have trouble cleaning a fouled lens, use toothpaste on a cotton swab. bc Spartan24 12-08-2006, 15:34 I have a Surefire X200a on my G21 and I really like it. It's of metal construction unlike other brands that are polymer. Surefire even has an ad that shows an X200 on an XD pounding a nail into a board with it. It states "You may never have to do this with it, but aren't you glad you know it could?" Or something like that. Basically the Surefire X200 is one tough mother. Price is up there, but you get what you pay for. Gibbles 12-11-2006, 22:51 I decided on the M3X for mine, Its one bright light. archipimp 12-13-2006, 06:15 Insight Technologies makes one that is pretty good and it is significantly less $$ than the sure fire. M3 is the model I have experience with. So far it is fine. Fits Great and ambidexterous so it is easy to reach the switch with either hand. I have not submitted it to torture tests so ymmv. Arc Angel 12-13-2006, 16:39  Other gunmen are always telling me the Glock light could (should) be brighter. Gibbles 12-13-2006, 17:25 if you have a local shop that will let you check them out I would suggest you do so, I tried out the Surefire, The M3, M3X, and the TLR-1. The TLR-1 was bright but very focused. The Surefire light was focused but spread out more, the M3 seemed to have a dead battery... but the M3X was like a flood light. And I dont know about the others but the M3X and im sure the M3 also lets you adjust the beam. epsylum 12-13-2006, 18:21 I have a TLR-1 and like it a lot. It is all aluminum, very well made, the price is right (with my Midway discount it came out to $93), and is very bright, brighter than my Surefire E2E as a matter of fact. 02Mineralgraygt 03-02-2007, 12:04 Originally posted by Arc Angel  Other gunmen are always telling me the Glock light could (should) be brighter. my Glock laser/light combo had poor fitment. you had to really jam it on for the catch to lock in place and hold it on. the rail and the stop didnt line up right, but the light fit perfect on my buddies 23. i will probably get x200's for my 21 and 22 in a couple months after my AR is done. Glock_Holiday 03-05-2007, 01:12 I use the Glock light on mine. I also have a lasermax in it. This is my things go bump in the night set up for the house. Not my CCW weapon. In a dark or dimmly lit hallway, that light is pretty bright. GH http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e227/fgc123/Gen3G21.jpg GMAN40 03-05-2007, 16:06 I'm going with the Surefire X200 series light. The Glock light looks to big and heavy. Eric2340 03-15-2007, 21:27 Originally posted by Tom in Ohio I recommend the M-3X. What exactly has been corrected with the M3X over the regular M3? I've had an M3 and had some "issues" with it over the years. :( Price on it can't be beat, but if I had to do it over again, I would look for something a little more heavier duty. :( Eric Gibbles 03-15-2007, 21:58 The M3X is suppose to be brighter and suppose to have better shock suppression and it’s rated for 66feet of water. (All off insight's website) Eric2340 03-17-2007, 00:25 Originally posted by Gibbles The M3X is suppose to be brighter and suppose to have better shock suppression and it’s rated for 66feet of water. (All off insight's website) Well I can certainly attest to that, shock wise that is. Seems all the problems I've ever had with my M3 have been shock related, and only happened when the gun the lamp was mounted on was fired. Sometimes not extensively either. Had a bulb blow when being fired on my G21 once after firing only a few hot +P loads (granted I had also been shooing some regular non-+P loads with the light on the gun prior to that, but nothing like 500 or so, more like around the 200 or so mark). Bulb seemed to give it up, didn't just burn out. Last problem I had with it was when shooting it on my G35 again after maybe a couple hundred regular ball rounds, and then only after switching to some hotter Gold Dots or what not. The little lever that holds the lamp in place that you also pull down on to release the lamp broke in two, shooting the lamp off down range. Insight was pretty cool about it and knew what I was talking about as soon as I described it. Must be an ongoing thing with them, as they sent me the parts right away for free, and also sent me TWO or THREE of the levers at once, not just one to replace the one I broke. Hmmmm........... Next time I will go with the M3X instead of another regular M3 lamp, if I don't go with the SureFire one instead. Thanks - Eric Slvr Surfr 03-17-2007, 02:31 +1 on the TL-1 light. Best bang for $95.00 I got mine from here (https://topgunsupply.com/Streamlight-TLR-1-Tactical-Light-pr-166.html) vBulletin® v3.7.3, Copyright ©2000-2008, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. | ![]() |
