If you have a 26 already, and you want the 19 for the extra grip or extra rounds, you can just get a grip extension.
I on the other hand am glad i have 19, and think you should get one too.

Should you breath oxygen? Should you eat food? Should you go to the bathroom when you're insides are about to explode? Should you look away if there are pictures of a pantyless Britney on the web?
You should absolutely buy a G19!

Let me put it this way... I currently own a Glock 19, a full house Kimber (I totally overhauled the kimber) and a Sig 229 in 9mm. Of the three were I to have the option of picking one and using it to defend my life or my wifes life it would be the Glock, no question.
If my other guns were stolen I would be pissed but hey... That's what insurance is for. If my G-19 was stolen I'd throw the biggest fit the world had ever seen.
I guess I consider the G-19 to be the ultimate fusion of Function and Form. Nothing else does everything so well while being totally bomb-proof and dead nuts reliable.

I think we can safely assume you all will confirm his decision and border bandit32 will get the g19.
So should border bandit32 carry the same ammunition in both the G26 and G19?
Or are different rounds designed better for one or both?
If yes which rounds for each?

IMHO, the G19 is the finest fighting pistol in the world.
You're crazy NOT to get one.

I agree to an extent. Because of ergonomics and trigger I believe the 1911 to be the finest fighting pistol. But due to weight, I hate carrying it. There the G19 wins. What do I carry wnter/spring/summer and fall? The G19.

Why is G19 a better fighting pistol than the G23 which is same other than 40 caliber and two less rounds per magazine?
I seek to understand nothing more. Thank you!
I recently got a g19 myself, & the more I shoot it the more I love it. Once I get the sights just right it will be my main carry pistol.

Many say the G19 is the perfect balance between power and size. The 9mm is a formibable round when you use good defensive ammunition. just like any other caliber. Where I feel the G23 looses it, is the increase in recoil. The G19 allows for faster follow up shots. The G19 will accomplish what needs to be done, provided you do your part.

It certainly allows for economical practice as well. More practice is more better.

One point not mentioned is that the G19 makes for a great loaner as does a DAO revolver for a non-firearms person in a pinch versus the snappier G23. Personally I have no issue with shooting either but the G19 does have that advantage.
After teaching a few beginers with a G17 who were shooting their first SD size round (9mm or 38cal or larger) I would not wish to have only a 40cal to hand someone in a pinch or to teach with.

Ummmm ..... let's see :headscratch:
- less recoil
- less muzzle flip
- ability to take a 33 round mag :50cal: if needed
Plus, if one's already got another 9mm Glock, what's the point in learning to shoot and tooling up for a whole new caliber ?
